SMUGGLING LIGHT BULBS

Let me make a business proposition,
Suited to someone in your position;
I hear that you’re on your way to Oz,
And we could make a profit, just because...

Light bulbs are illegal in Australia!
What can you do when florescents fail ya?
No one sells incandescents – they might jail ya!
So we’ll be smuggling light bulbs to Australia!

How will they light their Christmas trees this Summer,
Without little light bulbs? What a bummer!
But when you’re helping out some needy Aussie,
Avoid the local sheriff and his posse

For light bulbs are illegal in Australia!
What can you do when florescents fail ya?
No one sells incandescents – they might jail ya!
So we’ll be smuggling light bulbs to Australia!

Could we hide enough small bulbs. I wonder,
To light up all the Lava Lamps down-under?
Yes, I know we’ll breaking several laws
But someone needs to do it, just because

Light bulbs are illegal in Australia!
What can you do when florescents fail ya?
No one sells incandescents – they might jail ya!
So we’ll be smuggling light bulbs to Australia!

A silly -- and very rough -- song concept, based on the recent news about Australia's plans to outlaw the use of incandescent bulbs to save energy. Another ridiculous band-aid in my opinion, not that anyone wants it...but I definitely wouldn't want to be forced to use NOISY florescent lights in my studio. And, of course, the Lava Light DOES need bulbs, y'know.

Speaking of the studio, the new mixer/recorder came in today. Oh boy, new toys!
