Where a young man’s fancy turns
this time of year, we know;
what about a fellow such
as me? Might I sow
the few wild oats I set aside
(for I’ve frugal ways)?
I can not fling them quite so far
as in my youthful days!

Perhaps I am not yet too old
and, after all, it’s Spring;
nothing ventured, as they say,
will surely nothing bring.
Now’s the time to once more blossom,
before I go to seed,
before they plant me ‘neath the earth,
far beyond all need!

Where a young man’s fancy turns
this time of year, turns mine,
but I’ve become religious now,
knowing love’s divine,
and worship with a seriousness
lacking long ago;
if only I as a young man
knew what I now know!

Well, my life continues to be rather boring of late. Work on the house, work on the yard, work on the computer. Speaking of the last.... (drum roll please) ......

It's time to announce the relaunch of my Insolent Lad Store (powered by Cafe Press). Most of the old merchandise is there again, under one cyber-roof, along with some new stuff. I do intend to keep adding designs as time goes along. It's possible I'll eventually do books there but I'm more than happy with using Lulu as my printer and distributer, so probably's also possible I'll try using Cafe Press to sell CDs. For now though, shirts, prints, mugs, etc, with my art work (such as it is) emblazoned across 'em. Drop by and have a look, why don't you?

Or maybe Won'tfest...this past weekend was the three-day Will McLean Folk Festival, held down near Dade City FL -- about a seven hour drive from my new home here in the Panhandle. I intended to be there for the whole thing but, alas, a bit of an emergency came up and I had to leave mid-day on Saturday. So, no real reports or pictures or anything this year. That's how it goes sometimes.

Anyway, one of my tires decided to go bad on the long drive home, just to make my weekend complete. Thumpety...thumpety...thumpety...

On the bright side, things are moving along at Peanut Road. The garden, the trees, the...pollen. I'll be sneezing and sniffling the next couple weeks, I reckon. And eventually I'll get the so-called studio in order. Or studios, I should say, since art is in one end of the place -- my 'office' in which I am currently sitting -- and the recording will be on the other end. Here's a drawing (almost to scale!) of the future recording area, as it currently exists.
