I’M A GOOD OLD LIBERAL
(to the tune of I'm a Good Old Rebel)

Oh, I'm a good old Liberal
Now that's just what I am.
For the Republican party
I do not give a damn.

I'm glad I fit agin 'em,
I wish we'd always won.
I ain't asked no pardon
For anything I've done.

I hates the nasty Neocons
And everything they do,
I hates that ol' Dick Chaney
And all them Bushes, too;

I hates their war for oil --
’tis dripping with our blood --
And I hates their Patriot Act,
I fit it all I could.

I voted for Al Gore,
And eight years, thereabouts,
Got cheated by George W
And his band of louts.

I hates the conservatives,
With all their brags and fuss,
The lyin', thievin' scoundrels,
I hates 'em wuss and wuss.

I caughts the rheumatism
Campaigning in the snow.
But we beat a chance of Republicans
And I'd like to beat 'em some mo'!

We got us sixty Senate seats,
I knows that is a lot.
I wish we'd won a hundred
Instead of what we got.

I'm s'posed to be bipartisan
And fight 'em now no more,
But I ain't goin' to love 'em,
Now that is sarten sure;

And I don't want no pardon
For what I was and am,
I won't be a New Democrat
And I don't care a damn.

Intended to be pretty much tongue-in-cheek (especially considering all my conservative relatives), this is a parody of the old post-Civil War song, I'm a Good Old Rebel. I attempted to keep as much as possible to the text of the original, while staying true to its general air of acrimony and downright crankiness. :)
