Now and Then
'Do I make you crazy?' you'd ask now and then,
over some small silly thing you might do.
'No, kid,' I’d tell you, and smile. It was true,
oh, it was so true, when you'd ask, now and then.
And did you at last, or was it that I knew
my teetering dance on the tight rope of you
could only end with a fall? Who made who
mad is a question I ask, now and then.

Adventures in trimeter. This is something that sat half-finished in my notes for quite a long time. Maybe it should have stayed there.
